Paris Saint-Germain Edges Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Secure Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG has now secured the prestigious cup on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and secure a fourth straight Trophee des Champions title.

The European champions seemed to be coasting towards a straightforward win in the showdown between the French league winners and the French Cup winners after the French winger opened the net in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired twice in the closing moments to take a shock lead. Initially, Mason Greenwood converted from the spot-kick, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own-goal.

In a remarkable twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital equaliser in the dying moments to send the match into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then stood as the key figure, stopping decisive attempts from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

From the spot, Goncalo Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a convincing penalty win.

The record champions Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now won this competition for the twelfth time in the past 13 seasons.
